PSCo – On the Cutting-Edge of Service and Technology

PSCo is a leading trade-only distributor of cutting-edge digital signage products. Their primary clients are integrators who count on PSCo’s guidance, support, and technical expertise in developing solutions to complex visual display projects. At the core of PSCo is its management team, headed by Stuart Holmes, with vast industry knowledge and marketing skills that have enabled him to forge distribution partnerships with leading display technology manufacturers around the world.

The combination of “Advanced Products” and service has helped PSCo grow exponentially over the last three years to become one of the leading high-end display distributors. PSCo has a highly successful trade rental department, holding products in stock for integrators on a short-to-medium term projects basis.

The Latest Technologies for Engaging Your Audience

PSCo’s flagship product is the Infinite Plasma, manufactured by Orion. This bezel less plasma screen enables the building of “Plasma Walls” of any size or shape, and has been featured in some of the most creative digital signage projects in the UK.

Panasonic has entrusted PSCo with the distribution of its 103” Plasma, which has begun to appear in retail, public and corporate digital signage applications across the UK.

Vitze is PSCo’s most versatile digital signage product. These revolutionary LCDs are available in three sizes 46”, 57” and 82”, with an optional in-built PC. The 46” model is available with an optional touch screen technology. The Vitze also features a built-in motion sensor that instantly recognizes when a person is standing in front of it and can be programmed to interact with them.

The Vitze non-interactive LCD’s are ideal for digital signage in any high-traffic area. They are the perfect visual tools to communicate marketing messages effectively and professionally. The screens are available with wall mounts, or as a stand alone unit, and feature super thin design, adjustable height, and have a toughened glass front.

“Our long term strategy is to focus on the latest technologies hitting the market, working with products that offer our clients new opportunities, suit our technical team’s support services, and offer something unique to the market. We hope to position ourselves as the place people come to when they are looking for something that will engage their audience,” says Managing Director Stuart Holmes.

PSCo’s Technical Expertise and Support Leads to High-Profile Projects

HMV: A New Generation of Retail Technology (Merry Hill, UK)

PSCo worked with TouchVision’s Jim Ofield, Engineering and Services Director, to deploy a next generation 3 x 3 Infinite Plasma wall in the HMV’s store window to enable advertising of music promotions and other features. The seamless wall solution is perfect for use in shop windows with its new anti-reflective coating, and tiny gap between screens.

Jim Ofield commented; “As the plasmas had to be placed right up against the window, we worked with PSCo to design special brackets for the display. The bracket system bolted to the floor, right up against the window, and was designed so the video wall could be assembled nearby and slid right into place, making maintenance easier in the long term.”

Jim continued, “We have enjoyed a long working relationship with HMV and they are constantly looking for new ways to keep their stores technologically fresh and exciting using audiovisual advancements. So it was extremely important that the new store reflected those key attitudes and provide a visual display that can surpass other market leaders in the highly competitive retail market.”

Jura: The Cutting-Edge of Technology (Mayfair, UK)

Jura, the luxury watch retailer, recently invested in a renovation which saw the addition of the world’s largest plasma screen to their Mayfair store. In addition, two 46” Vitze interactive touch screens were also installed forming an extraordinary in-store AV solution.

The Jura store in London’s Mayfair challenges the traditional form of luxury retailing with a dynamic themed environment, and by utilizing technology to bring the brand alive.

PSCo was contracted to install the 485lbs. plasma screen and the Vitze touch screens. These spectacular displays allow for the effective communication of marketing messages combined with high-resolution imagery creating a visually stunning experience for visitors.

“The plasma screen creates a dramatic visual impact when customers enter the store. We wanted both the largest and the best possible screen available for the focal point and this turned out to be the Panasonic 103” commented Alistair Laidlaw, Marketing Director of Jura.

Extraordinary AV for Channel 4’s ‘Big 4’ Art Project

Channel 4 launched the Big Art Project as part of their celebration of the network’s 25th anniversary. A 50-foot-high metal '4' was constructed at the channel’s Horseferry Road headquarters and was unveiled by Culture Minister Margaret Hodge. The ‘4’ mirrors the channel’s on-air identity with metal bars forming the channel’s logo when viewed from a particular angle becomes instantly recognizable.

Four artists will have the opportunity to customize the ‘Big 4’ over the next 12 months. The first adaptation of the work, entitled Heart, was by British artist/photographer Nick Knight, with sound design by Nick Ryan. The current adaptation by Mark Titchner, Find Our World in Yours Find Your World in Ours, allows the public to record their own thoughts and feelings about the media. Edited footage is then played back on video monitors mounted on the structure. Mark Titchner’s design used six weather resistant AQUiVO outdoor screens to enhance the interactivity of the sculpture.

Architecture and Design Agency FreeState worked with the artist and specified the outdoor LCD screens from specialist UK distributor, PSCo. The robust screens feature a toughened glass front and an anti-reflective surface that makes them the perfect choice for temporary or permanent outdoor installations. PSCo’s features a range of AQUiVO outdoor screens, which FreeState procured through PSCo’s rental department.
