Yahoo! Bus Stop Derby Takes Top Honors
NEW YORK, NY—April 18, 2011—Last week, MediaPost held its 2nd Annual Digital Out-of-Home Awards honoring the most innovative and effective advertising in digital-out-of-home media. The awards recognize advertising agencies and brand marketers for creative execution across 11 categories that include best use of branding, mobile and social integration, and innovative use of interactive technologies.
Garnering the top prize requires each digital out-of-home campaign entry to go through a two-stage process. Each entry is judged based on its creative execution, as well as how effective it was at achieving campaign goals, and on its ability to reach consumers in an out-of-home environment. MediaPost’s editorial team reviewed and judged each entry and narrowed all of the entries down to 3 finalists per category. The results of the first round were then sent to the 2011 Digital Out-of-Home Awards judges for their review to select one winner for each of the 11 categories.
Yahoo!’s Bus Stop Derby, created by Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, a San Francisco-based advertising agency, was voted Best in Show by a panel of 5 experts from the fields of advertising, marketing, digital technology, and outdoor media. The judges included Jeff Atley, VP Marketing and Business Development, Adcentricity; Mike Bloxham, Director of Insight and Research, Center for Media Design, Ball State University; Connie Garrido, CEO, Posterscope; Tony Jarvis, Olympic Media Consulting; Alan Schulman, CEO, Chief Digital Officer, U-Dig. Amy Corr, Managing Editor, MediaPost and Joe Mandese, Editor In Chief at MediaPost also served as judges.
Yahoo!’s Bus Stop Derby campaign was created in a partnership with Goodby, Silverstein & Partners; the city of San Francisco; and ACNE Production, a Stockholm-based film, television, and digital productions house created the screen content. Obscura Digital built the digital content management and real-time user-metrics system, and the media buy was coordinated by Kinetic.
