SEEN & NOTED: AUSTIN, TX - At the South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival, held last March in Austin, Texas, The Independent Film Channel (IFC) used two 60-inch multi-touch enabled displays to promote their current show lineup. SXSW is a creative festival that brings together the film, music and interactive industries attracting content producers, designers, developers, programmers and educators to the annual event.
Houston-based Aniden Interactive, a digital design agency, created IFC’s multi-touch content. The content included an introductory screen consisting of a 3D carousel that enabled users to interactively browse photos and clips from IFC current lineup of shows. A “Create a Message” game allowed multiple users to create sentences from a collection of words. The display system also made use of QR codes that instantly directed users to iTunes where they could download their favorite IFC content. QR codes also enabled users to easily join the IFC Insiders, an online panel where fans can share their thoughts opinions and ideas about IFC shows. Users were also able to view videos and pictures showcasing the best of SXSW film interactive and music. IFC's Crossroads House was designed and produced by Nikipedia, LLC with custom installations designed and fabricated by Moe Hallak Design.
