Entry Deadline Is August 26, 2011, Winners to Be Announced In October
SEEN & NOTED: UNITED KINGDOM - Ocean Outdoor, a London-based digital out-of-home media company is partnering with Brand Republic, a leading online publication focused on advertising and marketing in the UK to launch The Art of Outdoor Digital Competition showcasing the best creative execution in place-based digital outdoor advertising.
Ocean Outdoor is looking to advertisers and creative agencies to examine digital out-of-home's dynamic digital capabilities and demonstrate how it should be used for maximum effect. According to Ocean Outdoor, two-thirds of all digital outdoor advertising campaigns don't utilize the medium to its full potential. This competition offers advertisers the opportunity to push the creative boundaries of digital out-of-home advertising.
Ocean Outdoor and Brand Republic are asking advertisers to be brave, daring and challenge the normal thinking. The competition is seeking entries that "think beyond the pixel" by creating new and innovative digital statements and identify and reward truly outstanding creativity using digital out-of-home media and together discover the future for advertisers.
Competition entries should think about convergence and employ creative techniques from other media such as Augmented Reality (AR) and location-based mobile applications to demonstrate the best digital out-of-home thinking for an opportunity to win a campaign for their clients on some of the UK’s best digital signage locations.
Ocean Outdoor manages several high profile, large format digital billboards sites across central London, Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham. The competition offers agencies and brands an opportunity to screen their best work on Ocean Outdoor's digital out-of-home network and win one of 3 grand prizes totaling £300,000.00 GBP ($482,382. US) in media exposure.
The Art of Outdoor Digital Competition's call for entries deadline is August 26, 2011 and is free to all to enter. Entries will be shown live for one day on Ocean Outdoor's digital signage screen network in four high visibility locations.
